KUALA LUMPUR – The PLUS toll rate will be reduced by 18 percent beginning 12.00 midnight today.
The 18 percent discount would be given to all passengers vehicles, buses and taxis at the North-South Expressway, New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), North–South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Malaysia – Singapore Second Link Expressway (LINKEDUA), East Coast Expressway 2 (LTP2), Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH), Butterworth – Kulim Expressway (BKE) and the Penang Bridge.
“The toll rate for commercial vehicles will remain at the same toll rate without any increment until the end of the concession,” Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said in a statement today.
As announced in the Budget 2020 presentation, the toll rate for private vehicles at the Second Penang Bridge will similar with the new toll rate of the first Penang Bridge after the 18 percent discount beginning 1 February 2020.
“With the reduction of toll rate, the government has taken a big step towards fulfilling our promise to abolish toll in stages by renegotiation highway concession deals, as stated in the Pakatan Harapan Manifesto,” he added. -MalaysiaGazette
