KUALA LUMPUR – The reports which alleged cosmetics entrepreneur Muhammad Sajad Kamaruzzaman who is better known as Sajat was arrested by the authorities in Saudi Arabia is not true.
According to sources, the news on Sajat’s arrest which went viral was fake.
“I just found out from his agent, Sajat is with his family and he just had his breakfast (at the hotel).
“Nothing happened. That was fake news,” said the source.
The social media went frenzy alleging Sajat was arrested at the Jeddah Airport.
The allegation was uploaded by Azmah Mohammed in Facebook. The post alleged that Sajat was arrested at the Jeddah Airport and according to him, the arrest was verified by the Malaysian Consulate in Jeddah.
Sajat and his family went to Saudi Arabia to perform the umrah ritual in Makkah under the arrangement of Albayt Travel (M) Sdn Bhd tour agency.
Upon reaching Makkah, Sajat put on the telekung and performed his umrah like a female.
His action also received the attention from the Minister in Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Dr. Mujahid Yusof Rawa who regretted the action and behaviour of Sajat and is awaiting further report on the matter. He also said that Sajat has given Islam a bad image.
“I regret his action as it has affected the image of Islam. As a biological man and in IC, he went to Makkah dressed as a man but when he arrived, he put on telekung and acted like a woman, went to designated prayer area for women and it has caused discomforts there.
“I received complaints from the pilgrims that he (Sajat) had trespassed the area meant for women. That badly affected the image of Islam and I regretted his behaviour. I am still waiting for the report on the incident as he is still in Makkah,” he said. – MalaysiaGazette
