KUALA LUMPUR – Former Minister of Education, Datuk Seri Mahadzir Khalid denied that he received RM50,000 from the Managing Director of Jepak Holdings, Saidi Abang Samsudin after he company was rewarded with the solar hybrid mega project in Sarawak.

Defence counsel of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Jagjit Singh made the suggestion. Saying that Mahdzir wanted to use the money for his expenditure in London.

Jagjit: On 19 Disember 2015, did you tell Saidi several times that you wanted to go to London and it would involve a huge sum of money and then, Saidi told you that he would give you RM50,000 to support you? Do you agree?

Mahdzir: I don’t agree.

Mahdzir also denied that the money was a reward for him after facilitating business for Jepak Holdings.

Jagjit: By accepting RM50,000, you have been bought by Saidi. That’s why Saidi’s message sounded, ‘As promised by YB’. Do you agree?

Mahdzir: I don’t agree.

Earlier, a short messaging service message from Saidi to Mahdzir on the Letter of Award (LA) which he had not received was read out in the court. -MalaysiaGazette
