KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is willing to accept Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in his cabinet despite the Member of Parliament of Langkawi relinquish his position as the Prime Minister.

According to the President of PKR, it would all depend on the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidency Council and that is a great idea for the country. Mahathir has good experience in helping to move the national economy.

“I leave it to the PH Presidency Council and I am open to that idea. It is good for the country as his experience would help in ensuring a peaceful power transition and move the economy forward,” he said.

The PH Presidency Council meeting tomorrow is expected to discuss about the power transition issue between Mahathir and Anwar.

The issue has raised a lot of speculations recently.

Mahathir emphasized that he was not involved in the motion of confidence for himself and he repeated his stance of handing over his position to Anwar as promised.

Meanwhile, Anwar refused to comment when asked about the opinion of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Supreme Council Member, Tan Sri Dr. Rais Yatim that something may happen before November on the power transition.

On the contrary, he, who is also the Member of Parliament of Port Dickson said that it was a personal opinion from Rais. -MalaysiaGazette
