KUALA LUMPUR – With the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the Prime Minister, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) quitting the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition and the 11 Members of Parliament from PKR exiting their party, the 21-month-old PH government has collapsed.

Although there is still no official announcement on the direction of the Cabinet at the time of writing, the ministers have started to express their gratefulness for being entrusted to lead their respective ministries.

In a statement today, the Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub expressed his gratitude and apologised to the farmers and fishermen.

He also prayed that their fate would improve under the new leadership.

“I have spent my lifetime at the MOA to fight for the farmers and fishermen. If I have failed, once again, I apologise to all of you.

“I pray that your future may be brighter and I will continue to fight for you even if I am no longer with the government,” he said.

Besides Saifuddin, the Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad also sent his last Tweet as the Minister today while announcing the great news that two more Covid-19 cases have fully recovered and discharged from the hospital.

“Alhamdulillah! Two more Covid-19 cases have fully recovered and discharged today.

“There is no new positive case.

“The 14th and 19th cases were being treated at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital earlier today. The total number of fully recovered and discharged cases up until today is 20 people.

“Two are still being treated at the ward and they are stable.

“My final tweet as the YBMK (Minister of Health). Thank you,” he tweeted. -MalaysiaGazette
