KUALA LUMPUR – Former Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Hannah Yeoh expressed her concerns on the power transition turmoil which hit the country as it would affect the national economy and the welfare of the people.

“The corrupt ones will have a great sense of urgency to remove paper trail. The clean ones will be thinking of the multiple new policies and budget roll-out that are being stalled.

“I am most concerned about businesses with salaries to pay and families to feed. May this pass soon,” she tweeted today.

The Member of Parliament of Segambut had to leave her position after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong cancelled all Cabinet appointments at the advice of the Prime Minister after Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad resigned yesterday.

During the power transition crisis, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong continues with his responsibility in getting the confirmation from the Members of Parliament to fascilitate the process of forming a new federal government.

His Majesty will also be interviewing all 222 Members of Parliament beginning this evening. -MalaysiaGazette
