KUALA LUMPUR – The Statutory Declaration (SD) signed by the Members of Parliament (MPs) earlier is no longer relevant, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
According to the President of PKR, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had granted the opportunity to everyone without taking into consideration of the statements they made outside the palace.
“Tuanku had given the room for everyone and with that, the SD is no longer relevant. Tuanku sees that this is a process which could confirm our choice and not the statements made outside with different interpretations.
“That is the absolute power of Tuanku,” he said when met by the media outside his residence today.
Earlier, he came out to meet the media while holding the hand of his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
When asked about his confidence in gaining the majority vote, Anwar said that the ‘spirit’ is always there, however, he needed to be patient.
On the number of MPs supporting him, the MP of Port Dickson said that he was not interested in playing with numbers.
“Patience is the key. Wait for the statement issued during the news conference at the Headquarters of PKR at 4.30 pm today,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
