KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim was satisfied that a new coalition (Gabungan Baharu) will be formed at the state as it had gathered a simple majority with 28 state assembly members (ADUN) compared to 26 ADUN choosing Pakatan Harapan.

According to His Majesty’s Private Secretary, Datuk Jaba Mohd Noah, Sultan Ibrahim had earlier called for the 56 ADUN to be interviewed by him yesterday.

From that amount, two ADUN from Simpang Jeram and Puteri Wangsa could not make it to the two-hour session which took place at the Sultan Ibrahim Building in Johor Bahru.

“Therefore the new coalition party has the right to form a government and they can propose the name for the new Menteri Besar before the appointment of the new state executive line-up.

“Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku hoped the Johor state government could be formed without delay to ensure the state’s development proceeds smoothly for the wellbeing of the people,” Jaba said in a statement today. -MalaysiaGazette
