KUALA LUMPUR – The Mufti of Federal Territories, Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri urged all Muslims to perform the solat hajat and pray for the leadership crisis which hits the country to be resolved well and orderly.

According to him, Muslims must always be patient and have faith in Allah. At the same time, they should not be influenced by any illegal actions.

He said, the crisis in choosing a leader had also happened after the death of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

“The peak of political crisis happened after the death of Rasulullah SAW, thus, Saidina Abu Bakar R.A played a role in returning the ummah to Nas Ilahi and Hadyu Nabawi as a solution for the problem and, it was proven to work.

“Therefore, the Muslims should pray to Allah SWT and also perform the solat hajat prayer.

“It is important for the community to know the process flow from the right sources and accurate information so that they can understand according to the law and reality,” he told MalaysiaGazette today.

Zulkifli said, therefore, he would recommend the prayers on leadership so that it can benefit the people.

The Mufti of Federal Territories also expressed his gratitude towards the wise and right action from the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong in overcoming the issue. He also hoped that the people would obey the decision made by His Majesty even if the opinion differs.

The political crisis was triggered several days ago when Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad resigned as the Prime Minister of Malaysia. He was then appointed as the interim Prime Minister by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, until a successor for that position is determined.

For the first time in democracy history of the country, the Prime Minister’s post would be determined through a one-to-one interview with the King and 222 Members of Parliament on their choice of candidate. -MalaysiaGazette
