KUALA LUMPUR – The Chairman of UDA Holdings Berhad, Datuk Hisham Hamdan has been tested Covid-19 positive.

In an internal notice issued by UDA, the company had advised any individuals who came into direct contact with Hisham to undergo health screening at their nearest government hospital or health clinics, especially those experiencing symptoms such as fever, sore throat among others.

Concerns were raised when Hisham was seen with the new Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin recently.

Besides that, former Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Mohd. Redzuan Yusof was also seen to be seated on the same table and they chatted for hours during the farewell dinner with the former minister last Thursday.

Also present at the event was his deputy, Datuk Dr. Hatta Ramli and senior officers of the ministry.

Mohd Redzuan and Hatta, then met many other people, including political leaders, members of their party and media representatives.

It was reported that the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and his deputy are on 14-day quarantine after going for medical screening yesterday.

Earlier, Khazanah Nasional Berhad confirmed that one of its staff had contracted the Covid-19 and that individual had been to Shanghai in mid January.

The employee is the 26th case of Covid-19 in Malaysia, one of the four new cases of the outbreak.

However, there is no evidence showing that those exposed are infected by Covid-19. Nevertheless, it should not be taken lightly and we hope that everyone who came in contact with them would go for medical screening as soon as possible. -MalaysiaGazette
