KUALA LUMPUR – Four Senior Ministers have been appointed into the cabinet to assist in the Prime Minister in the affairs of economy, security, infrastructure development and education and social.
They are namely:
- Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as the Minister of International Trade and Industry
- Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Minister of Defence
- Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Finance
- Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Minister of Works
“The appointment of these senior ministers would allow the issues in the ministries and the fields I mentioned just now to be coordinated efficiently and effectively,” said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Speaking at a news conference during the Cabinet announcement, Muhyiddin said that the senior ministers will also assist him in his duty as the Prime Minister, including chairing the Cabinet meeting when he is not in the country.
“With these senior ministers, thus, there is no need for a Deputy Prime Minister to be appointed at this moment,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
