KUALA LUMPUR – Only commitment and cooperation from the people can save Malaysia from the Covid-19 pandemic which is getting worse.

The Chief Bureau of Unity from Gerakan, H. Puvaniten suggested for the Enhance Movement Control Order (EMCO) enforced in Simpang Renggam and Hulu Langat to be extended to other red zones as a large scale and quick efficacy test needs to be done on those areas.

He also supported the government’s move in extending the period of MCO until 14 April to curb the spread of the disease.

According to hi, the most effective way to contain the spread of Covid-19 is to not leave home.

“We are at a critical phase to avoid the spurt of Covid-19 which requires the collaboration from the people and improvement on safety management. These are the main determining factors on its success thus, it can avoid Covid-19 from going into a larger scale.

“Don’t see the Covid-19 pandemic as something unimportant and we are still going out using unreasonable excuses.

“Seeing the current development, the action of Malaysian government in extending the second phase of MCO to 14 April is very appropriate in containing and block the spread of Covid-19,” he said in a statement today.

Puvaniten also highlighted that the people must continue to comply with the MCO to avoid the government from taking more drastic actions or extending the MCO after 14 April. -MalaysiaGazette
