KUALA LUMPUR – The woman who threw insults at the police and soldiers on duty during a Op Covid-19 operation roadblock at Persiaran Surian in Petaling Jaya yesterday was remanded for a day.
Confirming the arrest, the Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said that the police will complete investigation papers before proceeding with the prosecution.
“The woman who lost her patience during the roadblock yesterday morning was remanded for a day.
“We will complete the investigation paper as soon as possible and refer it to the prosecution,” he said.
Yesterday, the woman in her 30’s shouted “Hoi stupid idiots, sekat jalan sampai jam teruk everywhere menyusahkan orang! (Hoi stupid idiots, roadblocks everywhere inconveniencing the people)” to the police and soldiers who were on duty at the location.
She was believed to have lost her patience for being trapped in the traffic congestion due to the roadblocks. She also honked continuously for almost half hour while trying to escape the traffic to go home.
Following that, the woman was brought to the Damansara Police Station yesterday.
Elaborating the incident, Ezanee said that the police has the responsibility to ensure compliance on the Movement Control Order (MCO) so that the public is safe from the Covid-19 pandemic which has taken 43 lives in Malaysia. -MalaysiaGazette
