
PUTRAJAYA – A new Covid-19 death is reported today in Malaysia. Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that she was a 72-year-old Malaysian with medical history of cancer and high blood pressure.
He said, the woman was being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital on 20 April and was pronounced dead at 9.15am.
“103 cases have recovered and allowed to discharge today. The total cumulative cases which fully recovered from Covid-19 and discharged from ward is 3,452 cases (62.4 percent from the total cases),” he said during a daily news conference on the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia.
This, the total number of cases discharged from the hospital is twice the amount of new Covid-19 positive cases reported today.
Noor Hisham also said that 50 new cases were reported today, which shifted the total tally of Covid-19 positive cases in Malaysia to 5,532 cases.
Therefore, the number of active Covid-19 cases is 1,987. Those patients have been isolated and given treatment. -MalaysiaGazette
