PUTRAJAYA – The area gazetted for the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), Selangor Mansion has recorded an increment of 22 new Covid-19 cases today.

Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the total Covid-19 positive cases in that area is 107 now.

Meanwhile, there is no increment of new cases in the Malayan Mansion. The area remained with four cases.

“Menara City One Plaza also did not record any increment. They remained with 51 positive cases. Other areas in Masjid India maintained three positive cases.

“Additional 10 new cases were recorded in Kampung Sungai Lui, turning the total positive cases there to 141 cases. Meanwhile, areas other than Kampung Sungai Lui remained with 315 positive cases, without any new case.

“No new cases were reported at the Pusat Bandar Utara and areas surrounding the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market in Selayang. They maintained the 28 positive cases. Covid-19 screening is being carried out on 7,749 cases,” he said during a news conference today.

According to Noor Hisham, the active Pesantren cluster also recorded an additional 17 new positive cases. The total cumulative cases for that cluster is 72 Covid-19 positive cases.

The Madarasah (religious school) in Sungai Lui also recorded 10 new positive cases changing the its total tally to 138 cases. Meanwhile the Sendayan cluster reported an increment of two cases to 79 positive cases.

“There is a new case from the Bali Patient-Under-Investigation (PUI) cluster, a total of 40 cases as of now. Meanwhile a healthcare worker in Sabah is positive, making it a total 32 cases and another case from the Muar Hospital cluster making its total to 22 cases,” he said.

Elaborating on the Sri Petaling convention cluster and the tahfiz students and their teachers, he said, a total of 29,826 participants at the Sri Petaling Mosque have been screened for Covid-19. 28,587 samples were taken from them.

According to him, a total of 2,013 were tested positive of Covid-19.

“They involved five clusters which is the five generations of index case until its fifth generation,” he said.

On another development involving the students and teachers of tahfiz school, he said, a total of 13,833 students and teachers have been identified.

They involved 208 religious schools and Covid-19 screening is being carried out on them.

“From the result of the 5,385 samples taken from the tahfiz students and teachers, only 330 were tested positive of the virus which is equivalent to 6.1 percent,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
