Only seven Covid-19 positive cases left in Terengganu

KUALA LUMPUR – The data from the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) showed that Terengganu is approaching zero Covid-19 cases when there are only seven cases left in the state on Wednesday.

Only two districts in that state is categorized as the yellow zone with five cases in Besut and two cases in Dungun.

Six districts in the state have been categorised as the green zone with no Covid-19 case.

Terengganu will become the sixth state to be freed from Covid-19 if the remaining seven patients recover from the disease after Kedah, Kelantan, Perlis, Penang and Perak.

Perak however, has been reclassified as a Covid-19 state after two patients were recorded in Teluk Intan.

Meanwhile, Melaka also recorded low Covid-19 cases with 18 cases in the state. Alor Gajah district recorded eight cases, six were recorded in Jasin and four cases were recorded in Melaka Tengah.

With that development, there are currently eight red zones in Malaysia. Four of them are from Kuala Lumpur in Ibu Kota (155), Batu (104), Kampung Baru (97) and Sri Petaling (45).

Selangor remained in the red zone with Petaling district recording 61 positive cases.

Rembau district in Negeri Sembilan recorded 151 cases, Seremban 41 cases and Kuching in Sarawak 77 cases.

The yellow zone increased by three areas in Kinabatangan, Sabah with two cases and one case each in Pekan and Rompin in Pahang.

Meanwhile, there was an increment of four green zones in Asajaya and Serian in Sarawak, Beluran in Sabah and Kemaman in Terengganu.

There is a total of 123 green zones nationwide. Malaysia has recorded 6,799 Covid-19 cases with 111 deaths. A total of 5,281 patients have recovered from the disease. Meanwhile, 1,387 are still being treated at the hospital. –MalaysiaGazette
