KUALA LUMPUR – 114 Members of Parliament (MPs) were seated at the government’s bloc during the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

The situation depicts that Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin commands the majority support from the MPs.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was seated at the opposition’s bloc along with 106 MPs.

Besides Dr Mahathir (Langkawi), four other MPs from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia were also seated at the opposition’s bloc.

They are namely, the MP of Jerlun Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, MP of Kubang Pasu Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah, MP of Simpang Renggam Dr Maszlee Malik and MP of Muar Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Muar).

The MP of Port Dickson, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was chosen as the Opposition’s Chief.

The opening of the third term of the 14th Parliament today only consisted of the royal address by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

This also marked the first Dewan Rakyat sitting after the change of government administration led by Perikatan Nasional after the Pakatan Harapan was toppled. – MalaysiaGazette
