KUALA LUMPUR – Yang di-Pertuan Agong advised the political leaders to not drag the country into another political pit as the people are facing with a lot of problems and uncertainties on their future due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Sultan Ahmad Shah also reminded them that as leaders, they need to portray their maturity in politics, besides becoming a role model in sowing positive values among the people.

That includes to understand the pains of the people, protecting them, hold on to the principles of fairness, turn clean politics into a culture, do not touch the sensitivity on religion and races or the position of the Malay Rulers.

His Majesty also said that the differences should become a platform to create new ideas to develop and unite the country.

“Truly, the unity and harmony begins in this noble hall,” the Yang di-Pertuan Agong decreed during his royal address in conjunction with the opening session of the First Meeting, Third Term of the 14th Parliament.

His Majesty is confident that the people will remain united in developing the country if they are not incited by the fire of hatred and schism.

“Therefore, debate responsibly and always show your positive political maturity so that you can be an example to the people,” His Majesty said. –MalaysiaGazette
