ALOR SETAR – Kedah’s new Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor assumed his duties today, arriving at his office at Wisma Darul Aman here.
His arrival was greeted by his Principle Private Secretary Datuk Armishah Siraj before he clocked in at 8.43 a.m.
Muhammad Sanusi, 46, then spent about 10 minutes speaking to the officers and staff of the Office of the Menteri Besar before starting work.
The Jeneri state assemblyman was sworn-in as the new menteri besar yesterday after Kedah Sultan, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah consented to his appointment.
The appointment was made under the provisions of Article 35 and 37(2)(a) of the Constitution of the State of Kedah after Muhammad Sanusi obtained the support of the majority of the state assemblymen.
Earlier, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir relinquished the post with immediate effect, after he lost the confidence of the majority of the state assemblymen in the state.
