PUTRAJAYA – Another Covid-19 cluster involving foreign workers from a cleaning company was identified by the Ministry of Health (MOH) today.

Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, 24 Covid-19 positive case have been reported from the cluster involving Bangladeshi cleaners.

“These positive cases were tested at a private clinic conducting Covid-19 screening on the workers of a cleaning company.

“The screening was an initiative by the employer to screen their workers.

“In whole, out of the 150 non-citizen workers from that company who have been screened, 126 cases were tested negative of Covid-19,” he said during a news conference.

According to Noor Hisham, out of the 24 cases, 20 of them reside at a dormitory in Kuala Langat, Selangor. They are currently being treated at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Four other cases reside at an apartment in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. They are being treated at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban.

“Further control and preventive measures are being taken, such as to identify and conduct Covid-19 screening on all residents and their close contacts, including foreign workers working in other units,” said Noor Hisham.

At the moment, 428 close contacts have been identified and will be screened. –MalaysiaGazette
