PUTRAJAYA – There was no new Covid-19 death as of 12.00 pm today, marking 11 days of no Covid-19 death.
Director-General of Health Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, therefore, the cumulative Covid-19 death in Malaysia remained at 115 cases or 1.46 percent from the total cases.
“Meanwhile, as of 2 June 2020, 12.00 pm, 20 new cases were reported, thus, the total Covid-19 positive case in Malaysia is 7,877 cases.
“Therefore, the total active Covid-19 cases is 1,292 cases and they have been isolated and given treatment,” he said in a news conference at the Ministry of Health (MOH) today.
According to Noor Hisham, from the 20 new Covid-19 cases reported today, 15 cases were imported where the patients contacted the disease overseas.
He added, out of the five local infections, three cases were non-citizens while two cases were Malaysians.
“MOH wish to inform that 66 cases have fully recovered and allowed to discharge today.
“This makes the total cumulative full recovery from Covid-19 and discharged from ward 6,470 cases (82.1 percent from the total cases).
“The number of cases discharged today is twice the amount of reported new cases,” he said.
Noor Hisham said,as of now, six Covid-19 positive cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and from that amount, two cases required respiratory support. –MalaysiaGazette
