CHINI – The Chini by-election campaign was enlivened by the presence of former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
The campaign for the state seat has entered its sixth day today. Najib kick-started his work with a visit to the Orang Asli community through the Ziarah Kasih Batin Manda programme at the Orang Asli Bendaling Village in Chini.
Along with him was the candidate from Barisan Nasional (BN), Mohd Sharim Md Zain and the UMNO Youth Chief of Pekan, Datuk Mohd Nizar Najib.
The former Chairman of BN also visited the Orang Asli in Kampung Tasik Mentiga village and handed new membership forms for the Single Mothers in Chini State Assembly at the Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Chini 5 hall.
Najib is scheduled to be in Chini for three days until this Sunday.
“I have contacted the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah to ensure that Tenaga Nasional Berhad provides electricity supply as the poles have been installed.
“The minister had also instructed TNB to begin their work immediately so that the Orang Asli can enjoy the electricity,” he said during his visit to the Orang Asli community in Kampung Bendaling, Chini.
According to Najib, the electricity supply project was halted due to the Covid-19 which happened since last year.
Meanwhile, Najib also expressed his confidence that Mohd Sharim will be a good representative for the voters in Chini.
“The candidate can continue the legacy of Allahyarham Datuk Seri Abu Bakar well and he can work to fulfil the needs of Chini.
“He is the best choice for Chini. I am confident that he can become the people’s representative who works happily for the people,” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
