KUALA LUMPUR – Parties under the Muafakat Nasional coalition are ready to hold a discussion if Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) wants to join the collaboration and work with UMNO and PAS.
The Secretary-General of UMNO, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said, Barisan Nasional (BN) has no problem in working with Bersatu as the party has proven to work well with PAS to form Muafakat Nasional.
“We have the experience on how to form a cooperation with political party which was once very different from UMNO, such as PAS.
“We had different opinion for years and our gap was not small. We managed to work well in the end.
“Therefore, we should take advantage of the experience now. There is no problem for Muafakat Nasional to work with Bersatu,” he said after visiting the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market today.
It was understood that Bersatu will be sending its representative for a meeting with the Secretariat of Muafakat Nasional today.
However, the meeting had to be postponed to next week as several representatives from PAS could not make it today, said Annuar.
When asked about the reaction of UMNO if Bersatu wants to join Muafakat Nasional, Annuar said that the party had discussed the issue. He said, anything involving the party needs to be deliberated in meeting before they reach a decision. –MalaysiaGazette
