KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia deny a news circulating in the social media alleging that Malaysia is facing the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the ministry’s Quick Response Team, the fake news involving the Ministry of Health (MOH) is widely circulated as the country is in its Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period.

“The ministry denies that Malaysia is facing its third Covid-19 wave following the increment of local cases for a week.

“This follows the government’s proposal to re-implement the Movement Control Order (MCO) if the active cases exceed 100 cases,” said the statement.

Therefore, the ministry urged the public to access information from the official media to gain accurate and right information.

“The public is recommended to visit the official Facebook page of Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia), Twitter (KKMPutrajaya) and Instagram (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia) to get the authentic information,” said the statement. – MalaysiaGazette
