KUALA LUMPUR – Bukit Aman has opened two investigation papers on the two video recordings involving the interview of Hot Burger Founder, Mohd Asri Hamid who is also known as Asri Janggut.
The Director of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Datuk Huzir Mohamed said, the two video recordings are namely the 14 minit interview at Sinar Harian’s Facebook entitled Gambling Issue: Slander or Reality and the 50 minute 53 seconds interview with the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM).
According to Huzir, Mohd Asri is believed to have issued offensive and insulting statements towards the police and military and the video will be investigated by the Classified Criminal Investigation Department.
“The investigation is classified under Section 505(b) and Section 505(c) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” said the statement.
Huzir said, all witnesses identified in the case will be called to get their statements recorded soon, including the interviewees, organisers of the interview or talk and the video production team.
“We will take actions according to the law and no individual or entity can escape any form of actions which violated the law of the country.
“PDRM also urged the public not to make, produce or distribute any statement, rumour or news which could lead to disharmony, hatred and could disrupt the public order and safety,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
