Covid-19: 1 death, 14 new positive cases

PUTRAJAYA – A total of 14 new Covid-19 cases was recorded today, turning the tally of the disease in the country to 9,354 cases.

Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, five out of the 14 cases were imported cases and the remaining were local infections.

“For the five imported cases who contracted the disease from overseas, they were non-citizens from Ukraine, Pakistan, Indonesia and two from the Philippines.

“Five local infections involved one Malaysian and four non-citizens,” he said in a news conference at the Ministry of Health today.

According to Noor Hisham, there were increment of local infection in the Tawar and Telaga Cluster.

Meanwhile, one Covid-19 death was reported from the new cluster in Sabah, the Benteng LD Cluster.

Five Covid-19 positive cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Meanwhile, 21 cases have fully recovered from the disease and there are 151 Covid-19 active cases in the country. –MalaysiaGazette
