KUALA LUMPUR – The membership of former Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Osman Sapian is automatically dropped from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
According to the Chairman of the Bersatu Disciplinary Board, Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas, Osman’s action of assisting an independent candidate during the Slim by-election campaign had caused the event.
“According to the Constitution of Bersatu, Article 10.2.3, Datuk Osman’s membership has been automatically dropped from the party.
“No need to be charged before the disciplinary board. The Secretary-General (Bersatu) can tell the public that Datuk Osman is no longer a member of Bersatu due to his own actions,” he said.
During the recent Slim by-election campaign, Osman was spotted campaigning for an independent candidate, Amir Khusyairi Mohamad Tanusi in a video which was made viral recently.
However, Osman alleged that his presence at the by-election campaign was merely to meet an old friend and for a tour. He also said that his action had nothing to do with politics. –MalaysiaGazette
