KOTA KINABALU – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) announced its 29 candidates who will be contesting in the coming Sabah state election under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.

Among the 29 state assembly seats announced, one seat at the Paginatan state assembly collides with Barisan Nasional, meanwhile, two overlaps with Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) at Sook and Tulid.

The Bersatu State Chief, Datuk Hajiji Noor said, he has yet to hear any news about the announcement of seats by any party. However, a discussion was held with BN earlier before Bersatu made the announcement.

“For your information, I cannot answer this because I did not hear the news. We did discuss (with BN),” he said during a news conference just now.

Elaborating further, Hajiji said that Bersatu hopes that BN and its component party will withdraw themselves to avoid clashing with Bersatu and secure the win for PN in the election.

“We hope that it will happen,” he said stating that 50 percent of the candidates from PN are new faces.

For the record, earlier today, BN announced that it will be contesting in for 31 seats in the Sabah State Legislative Assembly this 26 September, including Paginatan.

Its component party, PBRS will be contesting in five areas namely Matunggong, Tandek, Kadamaian, Tulid and Sook.

Besides that, the President of Star, Datuk Jefrey Kitingan also announced that he will be presenting PN at the Tambunan State Assembly. –MalaysiaGazette
