KUALA LUMPUR – The number of new Covid-19 positive cases in the country leaped to 182 with 181 local infections and one imported case involving a Filipino in Selangor.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, 14 patients have recovered and allowed to discharge. There are currently 501 active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.

From the 181 local infections, 90 cases involved Malaysians while 91 cases were non-citizens.

All local infections involving foreigners were from the Benteng Cluster in Sabah.

Elaborating further, the Benteng Cluster in Sabah has recorded a total of 167 new cases. Meanwhile the Sungai and Telaga Cluster in Kedah recorded 11 and three new cases today.

No Covid-19 death is reported. Meanwhile, nine patients are under treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where five cases required respiratory support. – MalaysiaGazette
