PUTRAJAYA – The Ministry of Health (MOH) estimated that at least 20,000 individuals will be screened for Covid-19 in three districts of Sabah.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the three districts involved are namely Tawau, Lahad Datu and Kunak, where the screening will be held widely.

“After the authorities strengthen its border control, the ministry will run health screening in the community and we are targeting the community in Tawau, Lahad Datu and Kunak.

“We will also identify certain areas, such as villages and localities.

“If a locality has high Covid-19 positive cases, we will take actions such as implementing the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO),” he said in a news conference today.

Earlier, Noor Hisham announced that a new cluster has emerged in Sabah in Kunak named, the Pulau Cluster which has infected nine individuals.

He said, the index case is case 9,940 which infected a 68-year-old Malaysian woman. –MalaysiaGazette
