KUALA LUMPUR – 293 individuals were arrested by the police yesterday for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO).
From that amount, compounds were issued to 269 individuals. Meanwhile, 24 individuals were remanded.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the top list of violation was pub and clubbing activities involving a total of 124 people.
Other offences include physical distancing (85), failure to prepare equipment or personal details record (31), not wearing face mask (24), premises operating overtime (10), illegal immigrants (9), premises operating without permission (6), leaving home without valid reasons at EMCO areas (2) and failure to pay for quarantine charges (2).
According to him, the Compliance Task Force Operation led by the police had conducted 54,825 inspections nationwide to monitor the enforcement and compliance of the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
2,475 Enforcement Teams involving 11,016 members had monitored 3,507 supermarkets, 4767 restaurants, 1205 hawkers, 1164 factories, 3292 banks and 531 government offices.
Observations were also conducted at 1,060 land transport terminals, 189 water transport terminals and 74 air transport terminals.
He added, the Benteng Operation had successfully arrested 75 illegal immigrants, five traffickers and two skippers and seized four vehicles. –MalaysiaGazette
