Bangau-Bangau Cluster emerges in Sabah

PUTRAJAYA – The Ministry of Health (MOH) detected another the Bangau-Bangau Cluster in Semporna today, making it the seventh Covid-19 cluster in Sabah.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the cluster was identified following patients admission screening at the Semporna Hospital.

According to him, five cases (case 10,340 until case 10,344) were tested positive of Covid-19 on 21 September.

“From that amount, four cases were Malaysia citizens and one case was non-citizen.

“All of them did were asymptomatic and have been admitted into the Semporna Hospital for treatment.

“As of 12.00 pm today, 97 individuals have been screened. Five were tested positive and 92 individuals are still waiting for their result,” he said during a news conference today.

Noor Hisham said, infection preventive measures including disinfection and sanitisation have been carried out at the Semporna Hospital.

According to him, they are still investigating the cause of infection. Nevertheless it is still business as usual for the Semporna Hospital.

Meanwhile, as of 12.00pm, the Benteng LD Cluster in Sabah 41 new cases, turning the total tally of the cluster to 624 cases.

The Pulau Cluster recorded six new cases, increasing the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in that cluster to 35 cases.

Besides that, six new cases were also reported under the Selamat Cluster. The number of positive cases in the cluster is 25 cases. –MalaysiaGazette
