KUALA LUMPUR – The Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has been placed under the 14-day mandatory quarantine after being traced for having contact with two individuals tested positive of Covid-19 several days ago.
His Political Secretary, Muhyidin Abdul Rashid said, the mandatory quarantine was issued by the Terengganu Health Director until 3 October.
In a statement today, he said that all programmes and activities involving Ahmad Samsuri will be postponed until he completed his mandatory quarantine.
“Fast actions have been taken by the Terengganu Health Department to identify, contact and run Covid-19 screening on everyone related to the contact.
“Dedicated continuous observation was also made by the state Health Department,” he said.
However, according to Muhyiddin, the Menteri Besar had undergo the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RRT-PCR) Covid-19 and was tested negative.
He said, although the RRT-PCR Covid-19 was negative, he needs to go for another test on the 13th day of his home quarantine.
However, the Menteri Besar of Tengganu will be chairing the state government meeting on 30 September by virtual teleconference. –Malaysia
