KUALA LUMPUR – Istana Negara verified that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not submit the name list of the Members of Parliament (MPs) who had allegedly given their support to him.

On the contrary, the President of PKR only presented the number of MPs who supported him without naming them to strengthen his claim.

Therefore, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin AlMustafa Billah Shah Sultan Ahmad Shah had advised Anwar to obey and respect the law recorded in the Federal Constitution.

His Majesty has granted an audience to the Opposition Chief at 11.00 am today. The session took place for about 25 minutes.

“In the session which took place for about 25 minutes, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim has presented the number of Members of Parliaments whom he claimed to have given their support to him.

“However, he did not present the name list of the Members of Parliament to strengthen his claim.

“Therefore, Al-Sultan Abdullah has advised Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim to obey and respect the process of the law as recorded in the Federal Constitution,” said Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, the Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara in a statement.

The meeting today was supposed to take place on 22 September 2020. It was delayed as His Majesty fell sick and had to be treated at the National Heart Institute from 21 September until 3 October. – MalaysiaGazette
