PUTRAJAYA – The Covid-19 positive cases in the country continue to exceed 800 cases three days in a row with the latest record of 865 cases today.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah said that three deaths were recorded today and the cumulative Covid-19 deaths in the country is 190 cases.

“As of now, 99 Covid-19 cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where 32 cases required respiratory support.

“Therefore, the number of active Covid-19 cases are 7,456 cases and they have been isolated and given treatment,” he said during a news conference on Covid-19 development in Malaysia today.

According to Noor Hisham, 154 cases or 17.8 percent of the cases today were from the Kepayan Prison Cluster, Seberang Perai Prison Cluster, Tembok Cluster and four detention screenings at the Tapah Prison.

He said, those cases have already been isolated in the prison and did not infect the community.

He added, Sabah continued to record the highest cases with 643 cases or 74.3 percent and more laboratory tests are being conducted in Sabah and sent to the Peninsular.

“Meanwhile, states in the Klang Valley accounted for 13.5 percent from the total cases,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
