KUALA LUMPUR – The government will be implementing the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at the Sungai Emas Flat and Plaza Hentian Kajang in Hulu Langat from 28 October until 10 November.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the EMCO in Sungai Emas Flat will involve seven blocks of flats and terrace houses with 1,300 residents.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at Plaza Hentian Kajang will involve 7,500 residents.
“At the Sungai Emas Flar, as of 24 October 2020, 1,044 screenings have been conducted and 42 individuals were tested positive of Covid-19.
“Meanwhile, at the Plaza Hentian Kajang, 909 screenings were made and 63 were detected positive of Covid-19.
“Therefore, at the advice of MOH, the meeting today agreed to implement the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at Sungai Emas Flat, Jalan Emas 31 and Jalan Emas 32 and Plaza Hentian Kajang beginning 28 October until 10 November,” he said at a news conference today.
With the implementation of the order, all residents will not be allowed to leave their localities.
MOH will be running targeted screening on the residents involved.
Food supplies will be distributed and coordinated by the State Disaster Operation Control Centre.
To ensure compliance of this order the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department (RELA), Local Authorities and officers granted the authority will be patrolling the areas involved. –MalaysiaGazette
