KUALA LUMPUR – The Member of Parliament (MP) of Tanjong Karang Tan Sri Noh Omar expressed his shock after being implicated with an individual who was reported to attack former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak over the suggestion of cooperating with the President of PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He denied the report which alleged that Datuk Seri Mohamad Nazri Abdul Aziz and him acted that way in during the UMNO MP meeting yesterday.
“I was shocked to read the report from MalaysiaNow portal which reported that Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and I were against Datuk Seri Najib.
“It wasn’t true. Yes, I attended the meeting yesterday afternoon but I did not attack Najib. I only gave my personal opinion and Nazri Aziz was absent.
“This showed that the report from the portal was not true at all,” he said in his Facebook post today.
The report which quoted a source said that Noh and Nazri Aziz were among the leaders who objected to Najib following his suggestion to work with Anwar.
In Najib’s Facebook entry, the former Prime Minister explained that no one ‘attacked’ him during the meeting.
“Noh Omar did not attack me and Nazri did not attack me. Nazri did not attend the meeting today (yesterday). He was in Kelantan,” said Najib.
Nazri also denied that he attended the meeting yesterday.
Yesterday, Najib, who is also the former President of UMNO said that his suggestion for the party to work with the President of PKR, Anwar could be considered by the party if his first choice of having a general election is rejected by the Perikatan Nasional (PN)
According to him, the suggestion of cooperating with Anwar must be under the condition of not involving DAP. –MalaysiaGazette
