2 MAF senior officers slapped with more charges

SHAH ALAM – After facing 17 graft charges, two senior officers from the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) are charged again today at the Shah Alam Sessions Court.

The two accused are namely, Colonel Che Ahmad Idris and Brigadier General Mohammed Feizol Anuar Ayob.

Based on the charge papers, Che Ahmad has accepted bribery amounting to GBP4,500 and RM25,000 in cash from the Managing Director of FEHM Entity Sdn Bhd, Elias Jemadi Tajudin as the reward for recommending the appointment of the company in a direct negotiation for the maintenance and system support for a defence system under the Defence Intelligence Staff Division.

The offence was committed on 22 November 2019 at Kompleks Induk Stride, Taman Bukit Mewah Fasa 9, Kajang when he was the then Division Chief of Strategic Cyber Warfare, Defence Intelligence Staff Division, Ministry of Defence.

The second accused, Mohammed Feizol was slapped with two charges.

He was charged for accepting bribery amounting to RM150,000 from Elias as an inducement for him as the Military Advisor of the Defence Ministry to help in submitting the letter of intention from FEHM to be the strategic partner and maintenance contractor for the PRISMA system intelligence equipment of the Warfare Information Directorate (DPI).

He was also charged with accepting RM150,000 on September 2019 from the same individual for the similar purpose.

The charges against the duo were framed under Section 16(a)(B) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2019 (Act 694) which carries an imprisonment of up to 20 years or a fine of not less than five times of the value of graft.

Judge Tuan Yang Zaimey Yang Ghazali fixed bail at RM15,000 on Che Ahmad and RM10,000 on Mohammed Feizol.

He also fixed 30 November 2020 for the mention of the case. –MalaysiaGazette
