KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad rejected the debate challenge from Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
In his social media post, the Founder of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air uploaded a status stating that there is no reason for him to debate with Najib now as his allegations towards Najib have been proven true at the court.
The Member of Parliament of Langkawi also attached a news headline entitled “Najib challenges Mahathir for Debate.”

Najib, who is also the Member of Parliament of Pekan also uploaded the news article by writing, “No problem. When I was the PM, he invited me to a debate but I rejected him. When he was the 7th PM, I asked him for a debate and he didn’t want it.
The crisis between the two former Prime Ministers erupted before the 14th General Election (GE14).
The feud between the duo had changed the political landscape of the country when the Barisan Nasional (BN) party which has been ruling the country for 60 years since its independence was toppled and replaced with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in May 2018.
However, the PH administration led by Mahathir only lasted for 22 months before it changed hands to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin last March after Mahathir resigned as the Prime Minister following Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s exit from the coalition.
Mahathir now founded a new party, Pejuang, which is still waiting for the Registrar of Societies’ (RoS) approval. –MalaysiaGazette
