KUALA LUMPUR – Only 80 Members of Parliament (MP) are allowed to be in the Dewan Rakyat throughout the third sitting, including during the Budget 2021 presentation tomorrow.

The Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun said that the matter has been decided at the Dewan Rakyat Coordination Meeting following the Covid-19 pandemic yesterday which was also attended by the Chief Whip of parties.

According to him, the MPs would be divided into 41 representatives from the government and 39 from the opposition or independent.

“The determination of the Members of Parliament who can be in the hall would be determined by the respective parties. The Secretary of Dewan rakyat would hand out Special Cards to the The Honourable from Kota Bharu to coordinate the attendance of the administration members and backbenchers.

“On the opposition side, the Special Cards would be given to The Honourable from Sungai Petani for the attendance of the members of the opposition and Independent,” he said in a statement read by his deputy, Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon during the Dewan Rakyat sitting today. – MalaysiaGazette
