KUALA LUMPUR – The police have arrested four suspects including a Bangladeshi over the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (LRA) odour pollution incident in Rawang.

The Selangor Criminal Investigation Department Chief, Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said, the police acted based on the report lodged by the Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS) yesterday and made the arrests beginning midnight until early morning today.

He said, all suspects have been arrested in three separate raids at different locations in Gombak, Damansara and Kelana Jaya.

“Arrests were made on four individuals; a 40-year-old Indian Muslim woman, a 43-year-old Indian man, a 42-year-old Chinese man and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi,” he said in a statement this morning.

Yesterday, Fadzil confirmed that the police have opened investigation papers according to Section 430 of the Penal Code after receiving police reports from LUAS enforces around 3.00 pm yesterday. –MalaysiaGazette
