KUALA LUMPUR – The water supply has been restored in 888 (69%) out of the 1,279 areas that suffered unscheduled water disruption.

Therefore, only 391 areas are still affected and they are in the recovery process, said Pengurusan Air Selangor.

Water supply is restored in 99% of the areas in Kuala Selangor, meanwhile, 80% in Kuala Langat, 87% in Hulu Selangor and 75% in Kuala Lumpur.

55% in Gombak, 51% in Klang / Shah Alam and 69% in Petaling Jaya.

The unscheduled water disruption was caused by the contamination of raw water source in Sungai Selangor detected on 10 November.

Four suspects were arrested yesterday for allegedly disposing chemical waste into the river through a manhole in a store in Taman Velox, Rawang. -MalaysiaGazette
