KUALA LUMPUR – The Member of Parliament (MP) of Pontian, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan who was appointed as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member verified that he has left the position.
He said, the MP of Tanjung Karang, Tan Sri Noh Omar who is also the Selangor UMNO Chairman made the similar decision too.
Their positions will be replaced by the Gerik MP Datuk Hasbullah Osman and the MP of Cameron Highlands, Ramli Mohd Noor.
Speaking to MalaysiaGazette this morning, Ahmad Maslan said, as the Secretary-General of UMNO, he needs to focus on the works with the party, the same goes with Noh.
“We are busy. PAC requires a lot of commitment. Meeting almost every day, morning and evening,” said the man who left after being appointed into the position for a week.
Noh announced his immediate resignation to focus on Selangor UMNO on 4 November.
In his Facebook post, Noh hopes that PAC will continue to play its role in ensuring that the national financial governance can carry on orderly and smoothly.
PAC is currently chaired by the MP of Ipoh Timur, Wong Kah Woh and Vice-Chairman Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun who is also the MP of Beaufort. – MalaysiaGazette
