KUALA LUMPUR – The UMNO Youth Chief reminded everyone not to accuse the Barisan Nasional (BN) for attempting to topple the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government after the party posed two conditions in supporting Budget 2021.
On the contrary, its Chief, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said that the government should consider those terms as they were requests from the people and it is not appropriate to ignore the voices of the grassroots.
“Those who did not agree just say so and give reasons. There is no need to make various assumptions such as to topple the government.
“Try to understand the voices of the majority of the people who are in an emergency desperate condition and they are hoping and counting on to withdraw their own money.
“When the UMNO Youth Chief voices his support, it is only a manifestation of the voices of the people and we need to strive for that together.
“Let us not be punished by the people due to our arrogance by denying their voices for umpteen times!” he said in his latest Facebook post this morning.
Yesterday, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the President of UMNO urged the Federal Government to consider the RM10,000 one-off withdrawal from Account 1 of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) before Budget 2021 is approved as the people truly needed that.
According to Ahmad Zahid, the Ministry of Finance needs to do several adjustments to ensure that the monthly RM500 payment announced earlier should be changes to a one-off withdrawal.
Meanwhile, the BN Youth and UMNO Youth are consistent in supporting the stance of the BN Members of Parliament (MP) by supporting the proposal of EPF Account 1 withdrawal.
“The Chairman of BN Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi reaffirmed that the BN MPs are united in supporting the proposal from the Chairman of BNBBC, Datuk Seri Najib Razak on the permission to make a one-off RM10,000 maximum withdrawal from the Account 1 of EPF,” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
