KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that he does not need to bow or pledge his loyalty to the Opposition Chief, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
According to the former Prime Minister, the position of the Opposition Chief does not grant Anwar to power to control him or any other opposition representative.
“The Opposition Chief does not get the majority support from the opposition representatives. We are not under him.
“He is only chosen as the Opposition Chief. It does not give him any power to control. We can do anything we want in the Parliament.
“I also do not need to pledge my loyalty to him,” he said at a joint-news conference with Tengku Razaliegh Hamzah at the Albukhary Foundation today.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir who is also the Member of Parliament of Langkawi confessed that he has not been in touch with Anwar for a while.
He also repeated his stand that he would not work with former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. – MalaysiaGazette
