KUALA LUMPUR – The Supply Bill (Budget) 2021 for Ministry of Education (MOE) is passed with majority voice at the committee level of Dewan Rakyat.
The decision was announced by the Deputy Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon without an attempt for a block vote.
“In line with that decision, an allocation of RM47,270,939,700 for B63, an estimation of expenditure to manage 2021 has become part of the schedule,” Rashid said.
Last month, the MOE received the biggest allocation of RM50.4 billion which encompassed of 15.6 percent from the total government expenditure under Budget 2021.
Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz made the announcement while presenting Budget 2021 at the Dewan Rakyat last November
During the maiden Perikatan Nasional (PN) budget presentation, Tengku Zafrul said that the allocation is an important investment to ensure the quality of life for our future generation.
He said, among the initiatives which will be implemented are the maintenance and repair of government and government assisted schools to ensure a conducive learning environment with an allocation of RM800 million. –MalaysiaGazette
