SHAH ALAM – The haram meat cartel has been ongoing for the past 40 years and cannot be forgiven by the Muslims. Stern actions must also be taken on its mastermind with equitable punishment.

Opposition Chief, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also said that the revelation of the crime is unfortunate for the Muslims in the country.

“I don’t think that the Muslims and Malaysians should forgive this unfortunate disaster.

“There must be an immediate political resolution to provide an answer and to punish the people who had classically manipulated the religion and poisoned the people,” he said during his speech at the 100 Art Essay & 2008 – 2011 Reformation Era Literature Book Launch and Discussion by Datuk Che Shamsudin [email protected] at the Darul Ehsan Institute (IDE) today.

Earlier this month, Sinar Harian exposed the frozen meat cartel smuggling activities where the meat were smuggled into the country and relabelled with fake stamps to be sold in Malaysia.

The revelation was made by the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS) who also identified three popular Australian frozen meat brands which are being processed in a frozen meat factory.

Meanwhile, Anwar, who is also the President of PKR slammed the statement by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) yesterday, which claimed that the meat cartel issue is not within the jurisdiction of the government agency.

“I would like to emphasize that this is the most insulting example of how the Muslims’ blood and flesh could be invaded.

“Guaranteed halal is not the mere responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture as the Halal logo is issued by JAKIM. Therefore, they should be jointly responsible,” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
