KUALA LUMPUR – The application for the registration of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) as a political party has been rejected by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) yesterday.
The decision was issued by the RoS yesterday through and email to the party after the party made the application four months ago, said the spokesperson of MUDA.
According to MUDA, the RoS did not provide any explanation for the rejection despite the party has given its full compliance to the terms and conditions stated by the RoS.
“MUDA is disappointed with the rejection by the RoS. We have given our full cooperation and fulfilled all terms and conditions of the registration. Therefore, there is no solid reject for RoS to reject MUDA.
“This is an evil effort from the Perikatan Nasional government to stop MUDA and its supporters from taking part in the coming General Election. This action also violated the constitutional rights of MUDA to form a society.
“We demand for the government to contest in the coming general election in a fair, transparent and clean way and not to use cunning and dirty tactics,” said the party in a statement.

It also alleged that the rejection by RoS was delivered a day after the party exposed a scandal involving the family of the Pasir Salak Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Rahman from UMNO on the Dang Wangi LRT Project.
According to MUDA, it would consider all options, including legal actions to challenge the decision. –MalaysiaGazette
