Another new record, 3,309 Covid-19 cases, Selangor leads the score

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia sets another Covid-19 record with 3,309 new cases today.

Selangor recorded an increment of 1,007 cases, meanwhile, Johor recorded 442 cases and Sabah added 409 cases to the score, said Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“Meanwhile, the number of active Covid-19 cases is 30,390 cases. From the amount of new cases, six cases were imported, meanwhile, there are 3,303 cases of local infections.

“For the local infections, 2,461 cases are Malaysia citizens while 842 cases are non-citizens.

“From that amount, 825 cases (81.9 percent) were detected from the active Covid-19 clusters and close contacts screening,” he said in a statement today.

According to Noor Hisham, 439 cases (13.3 percent) reported were from the lockup, immigration depot and prison clusters involving the Jalan Harapan Jail Cluster (192 cases), Tembok Choh Cluster (162 cases), Tembok Mempaga Cluster (70 cases), Tembok Gajah Cluster (7 cases), Pagar Siput Cluster (3 cases),Telok Mas Cluster (3 cases) and Seberang Perai Prison Cluster (2 cases).

Besides that, the Director-General of Health said that 1,469 individuals have fully recovered from Covid-19 today, shifting the cumulative cases of patients recovering from the disease to 110,584 cases.

Meanwhile, 190 cases are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 83 of them needed respiratory support. –MalaysiaGazette
