
KUALA LUMPUR – The Member of Parliament and UMNO Division Chief of Padang Rengas, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz announced his withdrawal of support to Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to form the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
According to him, he came to the decision after a long thought and said that it is the best decision for his party, UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN).
“I want to announce, I, the UMNO Division Chief of Padang Rengas cum the Member of Parliament of Padang Rengas, officially withdraw my support to Muhyiddin to form the existing government,” he said in a special news conference today.
According to him, his action was not to pave way for a general election but to withdraw his support to Muhyiddin. His announcement also means that the existing government only commands 109 seats in the Parliament, with no majority. –MalaysiaGazette
